The concept of what is scientific or not allows us to clearly differ it from the empiric, random and not methodologically proven in such a way that it can be reproduced anywhere in the world under the same conditions. Alternative Medicine and Dentistry comprehend several practices that have not been methodologically proven as efficient when the placebo effect is discarded. Similarly, there might be nocebo effects. With no prejudice, the present study discusses about the aforementioned aspects, so as to provide the bases to reflect upon the role played by alternative Medicine and Dentistry on patients’ well-being in a safe and legal manner.
