Use of type A botulinum toxin to minimize gingival smile line: three clinical case reports.

Introduction / Gingival smile is usually consideredesthetically unpleasant and with alternativetreatment of different complexities. / Objective / Theaim of this study was to report the outcomes of threecases of gingival smile treated with Botulinum Toxin typeA (BTX-A). / Methods / Patient’s records and imagingexams were analyzed using by speciic digital videography.The procedure was repeated 1, 2, 12 and 24weeks after BTX-A was applied. / Results / Patients hada reduction in gingival exposure with no relapse after 24weeks. / Conclusion / Thus, BTX-A is considered a minimallyinvasive and effective method of temporary treatmentto minimize gingival smile.
