Class II subdivision right malocclusion, with unilateral posterior crossbite in a growing patient: a two phase treatment

Jaime Sampaio Bicalho, Rafael de Faria Bicalho

This clinical case was presented in the recertification exam of the Brazilian Board of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and demonstrates a two phase treatment in a growing patient that presented with complete right unilateral Class II malocclusion and unilateral left posterior cross bite. The objective of the treatment was to correct, in the first phase, the maxillary atresia and subsequently the Class II malocclusion and the increased anterior overjet. At the end of the treatment good dental intercuspation was observed.
