Introduction: Stability of anterior open bite is a concern among orthodontists, especially when it has skeletal origin and the patient has no longer growth potential. The treatment of this condition often involves orthognathic surgery or extraction of permanent teeth, options that may be rejected by some patients. Objective: The present paper reports the compensatory orthodontic treatment of an adult patient, with anterior open bite and hyperdivergent skeletal pattern. Method: The patient was treated with fixed orthodontic appliance and vertical using Stright-Wire technique. Conclusion: This option proved to be a good alternative for correction of anterior open bite, the skeletal discrepancy camouflage, restoration of facial and dental esthetics, as well as a functional occlusion with stability results seven years after 7-year follow-up.
