Interview - Marcio Sobral

I was very glad to be invited to coordinate the interview of this dear colleague, a long-time friend with whom I shared, side by side, a large part of my professional trajectory. Márcio Sobral graduated from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Brazil, in 1994, and his studies were focused on being an orthodontist as he got a degree from the School of Dentistry of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He faced numerous challenges and had to let go of some other goals to complete his much-desired technical and scientifi c education. He was a tutor and intern for the undergraduate Dentistry program at UFBA and entered the Master’s Program in Orthodontics at UFRJ in 1997. We shared the joy and hardships of student life in that program. After that, he never left academic life, and was a professor in the UFBA undergraduate program and in the School of Science and Technology (FTC), in Bahia, as well as in the specialization course in Orthodontics also at UFBA. He also earned his doctorate in Dentistry and Health from UFBA in 2014. He became a diplomate of the Brazilian Board of Orthodontics (BBO) in 2010, and now shares his life with students, patients, his family, composed of his wife.
