Introduction: Slow orthodontic eruption for bone development in areas of vertical bone defects is a widespread technique in orthodontic literature and has sound scientific evidence. Forces applied to tooth in the occlusal direction lengthen the bundles of gingival and periodontal fibers generating an osteogenic tension. In consequence of this process, the extrusive movement results in reduction of the pocket depth, increased bone support and change in soft and hard tissue architecture. Objectives: This paper describes a clinical protocol for slow traction of upper incisors with the use of fixed appliance and sequential extrusion bends. A clinical case will be used to illustrate such protocol.
