Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the cephalometric changes associated with the compensatory treatment of skeletal Class III mal- occlusion patients treated with anterior maxillary and mandibular torque alterations. Methods: The sample consisted of 72 lateral cephalograms of 36 patients treated with Class III biofunctional brackets, with programmed modified torque on the maxillary (central and lateral: 00) and mandibular (central and lateral: +100) incisors, with a mean age of 22.9 years (standard deviation 1.57 years). Intergroup treatment changes were compared with t and Wilcoxon tests, with a significance level of 5%. Results: A statistically significant increase was observed in the following measurements: SNA, A-Nperp, ANB, NAP, Wits, AFAI, 1.SN and horizontal overjet (p<0.05). Only the measure 1-AP presented a significant reduction (p<0.05). In the soft tissue assessment, a statistically significant increase was observed in the Ls-Line E measurement, and a statistically significant reduction in the Li-Line E and ANL angle (p<0.05). Conclusion: Compensatory treatment with modification of the maxillary and mandibular incisors torque, proposed by this modified version of Roth prescription brackets, as an alternative mode of correcting skeletal Class III malocclusion, with skeletal, dental and soft tissue changes, had a positive impact on the compensation of incisors in the context of non-surgical treatments.
