Vertical mini-implants on the alveolar ridge: creating orthodontic anchorage in cases of multiple tooth loss

DANIEL SANTOS FONSECA FIGUEIREDO

Objective: To describe a technique with the use of vertical mini-implants in the alveolar ridge of edentulous areas, to provide an adequate orthodontic anchorage. Conclusions: The approach described herein can facilitate the orthodontic preparation prior to the prosthetic rehabilitation of adult patients with multiple tooth loss. In addition, as its execution is simple, the entire technique can be performed by orthodontists themselves.

Keywords: Orthodontics, corrective. Jaw, partially edentulous. Orthodontic anchorage procedures.
