Second order Z bend: Three cases showing simple and effective solutions

INTRODUCTION: Bends for orthodontic refinement made in continuous arches can provide excellent clinical solutions to obtain certain individual tooth position corrections. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this article is to detail one of these orthodontic bends, the second order Z-bend, explaining its construction and versatility. For that, three ordinary circumstances in clinical practice will be presented, in which these bends can provide an adequate correction in a short time. CONCLUSION: The knowledge of the indications and the biomechanics of second order Z-bends can be a great differential in our clinical practice, with the achievement of expected results in a short time.
