What is the Bauschinger effect?

Objective: This article aims to explain and discuss the Bauschinger effect in orthodontics. Conclusion: By being aware of how the metallic materials behave, the orthodontist can use the mechanical properties to his or her own advantage, and also to know how to minimize the undesired effects that may occur due to the peculiarities of Orthodontics.
