Modified Adson tweezers for applying elastomeric ligatures and elastomeric chain

OBJECTIVE: This article describes a modification to Adson tweezers, to facilitate the application of modular elastic ligatures and elastic chain in “zero” and “eight”. The modification consists of thinning the tip of the Adson tweezers with a carborundum disc and making grooves at its end, with a #1558 carbide drill. CONCLUSION: After polishing with rubber tips, a light and precise tool is obtained, easy to handle, optimizing the daily life of the orthodontist.
