What is a consistent force system?

Introduction: Orthodontists can obtain a differential diagnosis of which mechanics are to be used if a consistent force system can be successfully differentiated from an inconsistent one. Objective: This article aims to define a consistent force system and to explain a simple manner to differentiate it, in most cases, from an inconsistent force system. Conclusion: By differentiating a consistent force system from an inconsistent one, orthodontists are able to apply the best possible mechanics for each situation.
