Alignment and leveling in the mixed dentition

MARCOS JANSON

Introduction: When treatments are performed in the mixed dentition, it is very common to need anterior alignment to correct large rotations or even to position the teeth properly in the arches. For this, fixed appliances are necessary. For a long time the use of 4x2 was standard in this type of treatment, simply because there were some myths about bonding brackets on deciduous teeth. Objective: The purpose of this article is to present a simple and very effective technique to solve problems in this phase, with greater control and comfort for the patient.

Keywords: Mixed dentition. Orthodontic treatment. Anterior alignment.
