Introduction: The evolution of orthognatic surgery in the last few years has reduced the side effects of surgery, and increased patients and dentists satisfaction with the procedure. When properly indicated, it allows for orthodontic finalization with an aesthetically pleasing and functional occlusion and low relapse rates. Objective: This paper aims to report a clinical case of successful surgical-orthodontic retreatment of a patient with skeletal Class II malocclusion, rethrognatism and a supernumerary maxillary lateral incisor. Case report: The initial treatment was a failed attempt of orthodontic camouflage. After restudying the case, the proposed treatment consisted of a surgical-orthodontic approach with mandibular advancement, according to the patients skeletal and clinical characteristics. Results:The corrections proposed by the orthodontist and the oral and maxillofacial surgeon were achieved. Conclusion: The treatment was finished with satisfactory functional and aesthetic results.
