Quantitative and Qualitative Evaluation of Six Years Old Children Craniofacial Growth

Marcos Nadler GRIBEL

The investigation on craniofacial growth and development has always been of great concern in Functional Jaw Orthopedics. According to David Hamilton, 86% of the Orthodontists and Dentofacial Orthopedists in the USA believe it to be a priority. The objective of the present investigation is to evaluate, in terms of quantity and in terms of quality, craniofacial growth in children and pre-adolescents, in longitudinal growth series. The results suggest that there is a significant amount of growth, in absolute and in relative terms, until the age of six, and also during the first year of age. This is another reason for treating malocclusions with skeletal components as early as possible (very early treatment).
