Orthodontic Procedures applied in Restorative Dentistry: The Extrusion of Multi-Rooted Teeth

C. G. MATASA

The restoration of fractured or decayed teeth is a continuous challenge in dentistry. To allow the fitting of a crown over multirootedtooth the roots of which were separeted by decay, the latter wer extruded with the help of elastics and without puposely building a supporting beam. Instead, a preexistent restoration (occurrence which can be often found in older patients) was used as anchorage, resulting in less discomfort for the patient.
