Reginaldo César ZANELATO, Hugo José TREVISI, Adriano César Trevisi ZANELATO

This article has as objective to show a new therapeutic approach for the orthodontic treatment in adolescents with meaningful class II malocclusion, and who poorly collaborate to a non-extraction conservative treatment. Therefore, a good diagnosis is necessary to accomplish this new treatment proposal. In order to substitute the third molar by the second molar that will be extracted, the definition of the size and the shape of the third molar is of high importance. According to Mollin (1984), the extraction of the second molar makes easier the distalization of the first molar, avoiding the impact of the third molar. It is also a purpose of this article to show a literary review of the subject that has been discussed. We will show through clinical cases the technic used to distalize the first molars, as well as, all the requirements thet must be observed to accomplish a good orthodontic diagnosis.
