Ectopic eruption of the maxillary first permanent molar is an eruption disturbance where the molar contacts the second deciduous molar apically to the distal surface, causing an atypical and premature root resorption in this area. The consequences of this abnormality are mesial tipping and rotation of the permanent molar, premature loss of the second deciduous molar and loss of the space of the second premolar. The aim of this study is to present two clinical cases and a literature review of ectopic eruption of the maxillary first permanent molars.
