Management of Impactions and/or Ectopical Eruption of the Permanent Cuspids: General Considerations, Diagnosis and Therapeutic

The orthodontics treatment envolves the management of the occlusion changing since the deciduous denture until the permanent. During the period of transition from the mixed denture to the permanent one it may occur some problems of dental impactions. The maxillary cuspids impactions are displayed in 2% of the population, as a result of the disturbances in normal sequence of the occlusion development. When they aren’t diagnosed or treated correctly it may result in problem stablishment, as a: malocclusion, resorption of adjacent teeth and cystic formation. Therefore, it was purposed with this study, to review some aspects concerning to the etiology diagnosis and clinical conduct of cuspids impactions and/or ectopically erupting.
