The aim of this study is to evaluate the cephalometric characteristics of the craniofacial complex of class II/1 patients using Mcnamara Jr. and University of São Paulo’s analysis and to compare them with morphological characteristics obtained by means of the subjective face analysis. Thirty white patients of both sexes and whose age was between 12 and 16 were evaluated. Cephalometry showed a) that the overall bony profile of the individuals was convex; b) good maxilary position and retrusive mandibulas position when compared to the base of the skull; c) tipped and protruded upper and lower incisors; d) overall moderate overjet and light overbite. The subjective face analysis attributed modification of the profile because of the maxilla in 3 cases (10%), because of the mandible in 13 cases (43,3%). Maxilla and mandible were considered in good position only in 1 case (3,3%). The results of subjective face analysis to evaluate jaw’s position didn’t show a statistical significance when compared with cephalometric analysis, nevertheless both analyses revealed a good coherence.
