Eureka Spring for Finishing Correction of Class II and Improving Anchorage

Geraldine Constantino BRAGA, Gislana Braga MACHADO

The aim of this article is to describe the Eureka Spring system to correct the Class II malocclusion when dealing with non-compliant patients. The Eureka Spring system produces just dento-alveolar effects and its main component is an open-wound coil spring, that delivers a push force against the mandibular anterior and maxillary posterior teeth. Three cases exemplify the use of the Eureka Spring to finish correction of Class II and to provide anterior anchorage against wich to pull the posterior dentition in extraction cases. We have seen a consistent anteroposterior correction, with good resistence to breakage and esthetically acceptable to patients.

Keywords: Class II malocclusion. Eureka spring appliance. Coil for distalization.
