A Comparative Study of Brackets Bond Strength with for Bonding Agents

Nadya Galvão BENGTSON, Antonio Lucindo BENGTSON, Deocleciano da Silva CARVALHO, Shirley Márcia ROSSETTO

The objectives of this research “in vitro” were to measure and to compare, the bond strength of four materials. It was used 40 bicuspids, which were prepared and bonding brackets of “Technical Tru Roth”. To make the test bodies four bond materials were used and after the traction tests they were obtained the following results in MPa: two resins composite - Concise Orthodontic (Group CO = 7,13 + 2,98) chemically cured and Charisma (Group CH = 4,93 + 1,75) light-cured; a glass ionomer cement reinforced by resin composed Fuji Ortho LC (Group FO = 5,52 + 2,42) light-cured and a compomer restoring (polyacidmodified composite resin) F2000 Compomer (Group F2 = 5,52 + 1,92) light-cured, poliacid modified composite resin. The analysis of Variance demonstrated that there wasn’t significant difference statistically among the groups as the adhesive resistance. There was larger homogeneity in the values resistance to the traction among the specimens of the group CH, proceeded by the group F2; group FO and group CO.)
